After the deadline, entries must be made directly with the PBA Central Region Manager.

Balance Holes
Beginning August 1, 2020, the use of a balance hole is prohibited. The rule states all holes in a bowling ball must be used on every delivery; any hole not used is considered a balance hole, making the ball illegal. Bowlers who do not use their thumb no longer can have a thumb hole, as it now is considered a balance hole. They also need to mark their ball to show where they place their palm on delivery.

W-9 Forms
IRS is requiring that we get new W-9 forms for all bowlers who earn winnings in PBA events. Players that have filled out W-9’s in 2020 and have recently changed residence will need to fill out an updated form. This requirement pertains to all participants, whether you are a member or not.

Qualifying Round

ALL PARTICIPANTS will bowl 6 games of qualifying on the 2021 USBC Masters pattern, moving lanes to a predetermined schedule after each game. The tournament field is limited to a total of 112 bowlers, no more than 7 per pair. Bowlers will be seeded in a single-elimination bracket based on their 6-game scratch score from qualifying.

The number of entries will determine how many bowlers will advance to the bracket. 1 in 4 bowlers, or major fraction thereof, after 6 games of qualifying will advance to single-elimination bracket play. i.e. based on 90 bowlers, 23 will advance to bracket play and byes will be awarded, as necessary. If there is a tie for the last qualifying position, there will be a 9th and 10th frame roll off to determine who advances to the single-elimination bracket play. All other ties will be determined by highest game in qualifying.

Single-Elimination Bracket Play

Single-elimination bracket play will consist of best 2 out of 3 game matches. The winner will move on, and the loser will be eliminated. Should there be a tie, there will be a one ball roll off until we have a winner. The final bowler at the end of all rounds will take home the title.

Tournament Rules
1. The tournament is open to all ADULT sanctioned male bowlers who are in good standing with the USBC and are currently sanctioned with USBC. 2. The entry fee will be $125; $16 lineage and $109 prize fund. All bowlers advancing to bracket match play will cash. After April 15th, the entry fee will be $140, with extra monies added to the prize fund. Based on 112 entries, 1st place will receive at least $1,225, and last cashing at least $225. The winner will also receive a paid entry into the 2023 USBC Masters. The entry may be declined, and the winner will receive half of the entry fee in cash. The remaining amount will be applied to the following year. The top Senior (50+ as of the date of the event), not cashing in the regular tournament, will receive $125.

3. Side pots and brackets will be available during the event. Brackets are $5, unlimited, and begin on games 1, 2, 3 and 4. Reverse brackets are $5, unlimited, and begin on games 6, 5, 4 and 3.
