Times: Qualifying begins at 10 a.m. with match play to follow

Format: Each bowler shall bowl four games over eight lanes moving after each game. After qualifying, the top players will advance to match play on a 1 in 4 ratio. Match play will be one-game singles elimination matches.

Awards: First place $500, second place $250. All prizes based on 24 entries. Series long MDUSBC cup competition (details on page 2)

Cost: $45 paid in advance ($30.25 prize fee, $14.75 lineage & expenses). $50 if paid on day of tournament. $5 per person walk-in fee will be assessed to those not pre-registered. Checks made payable to MDUSBC. Visa/MC/Discover accepted.

 

RULES & REGULATIONS — MEN’S SERIES

1. This is an individual match game event open to all USBC certified male adult members

2. Entry costs are $45 per individual paid in advance. $50 if paid on day of the tournament.

3. The tournament is limited to the first 72 bowlers with bowlers qualifying for head-to-head matches on a 1 in 4 ratio.

4. In the case of a tie for the final match play position, one additional game will be bowled by those bowlers tied. Should a tie still exist after this game, one (1) extra frame will be rolled on the same lane which each participant finished the game. Bowler on the odd lane will shoot first, but instead of completing the frame, the contestants will alternate shots until broken.

5. In the event of a tie for any other position, the player with the highest game will be placed in the higher position. Should a tie still exist, then the next highest game will be used.

6. If a match ends in a tie, a 9th and 10th frame rolloff will be bowled to break the tie with each bowler starting on the lane where they finished the match. As in all other games, the bowler on the odd lane will start.

7. Each match will be one game to determine the winner. Pairings for the initial round of matches will be based on the finish of the contestants in qualifying round. Pairings will continue on a bracket system.

8. Qualifying round will be four games total pinfall over eight lanes moving after each game.

9. Dress code enforced by Tournament Management. No jeans or hats to be worn during competition.

10. All participants will receive points based on their finish towards a season long “Cup” prize list.

 

Cup

All participants receive points based on their finish (except Mixed Baker Doubles). In each of the first three events first place will receive 100 points, second place 99 points and on down. First place finish will receive an additional 20 points and runner-up and additional 10 points. In the fourth event points are doubled. First place will receive 200 points, second place 198 points and on down. First place finish will receive an additional 40 points and runner-up an additional 20 points. In the fifth event points are tripled. First place will receive 300 points, second place 297 points and on down First place finish will receive an additional 60 points and runner-up an additional 30 points. Points for players eliminated in the same round are based on qualifying position. At the end of the five events the top 15 players based on points will share in the prize fund as follows (ties will split the money)
